Infloor central heating systems provide the ultimate in home heating comfort. These systems consistently deliver consistent warmth without draughts, hot or cold spots. Radiant heat warms objects directly without heating surrounding air, which prevents the air from becoming too dry. Infloor heating is great for families with small children as it is very safe and gives children a warm floor to play on.

The floor is heated by warm water as it runs through pipes within the floor. The water is heated by a boiler, which is usually powered by natural gas (the most efficient), LPG, heat pumps or diesel. Packaged heat pumps can be used to heat the water where a natural gas boiler is not an option.

Also referred to as underfloor heating, these systems come with a control panel that allows you to control the temperature of the floor. Efficiencies are gained as the sun warms the concrete slab during the day. The system will regulate itself to provide a consistent temperature and energy savings.The boiler can be driven by natural gas (the most efficient), LPG, heat pumps or diesel. Wood burning boilers are also available, but this does turn the system into a manual heating system, which will require effort on your part to keep the boiler burning constantly. Packaged heat pumps can be used to heat the water where a natural gas boiler is not an option.

Important note about installing infloor systems

Infloor heating can only be installed in new homes or homes that are undergoing an extensive renovation that involves digging up the floors. This is because the warm water tubes must be laid within the concrete slab of the floor.
